From 2 to 30 May 2024, the Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship (SIBD) organised an enriching seminar series focused on the Gospel of Mark. Spanning five weekly sessions, this seminar provided an in-depth exploration of one of the New Testament’s most dynamic and action-packed books. Participants were led by the esteemed Rev Dr Malcolm TH Tan, a former pastor with nearly 40 years of experience in teaching and preaching. His insightful guidance helped attendees uncover the richness and relevance of Mark’s account of Jesus Christ’s life and ministry.
Throughout the seminar, Rev Dr Tan carefully unpacked key themes in the Gospel of Mark, highlighting Jesus’ authority, compassion, and mission. The sessions delved into how Mark portrayed Christ’s miracles, teachings, and interactions with various groups, illustrating the profound impact Jesus had on the world around Him. Participants engaged with the text both academically and spiritually, gaining a greater appreciation for how the Gospel’s fast-paced narrative calls readers to respond with faith and discipleship. This study not only deepened their Biblical knowledge but also encouraged practical reflection on living out the Gospel today.
