On 26 June 2024, the Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship (SIBD) and D6 Family Ministries, hosted a seminar as part of D6 Family Night. The session, held over Zoom, brought together parents, church leaders, and caregivers committed to strengthening the spiritual and relational foundations of their households. With the theme of cultivating healthy family habits, the seminar offered practical guidance on how faith can be integrated into daily family life, encouraging participants to create nurturing environments where love, respect, and spiritual growth thrive.
Led by Rev Tay Li Ping from Christalite Methodist Church and Rev Timothy Ewing Chow, the seminar provided both theological insight and practical advice. Participants were guided on how to intentionally build and sustain strong marriages, recognising that the health of a couple often sets the tone for the entire household. Topics included cultivating consistent family devotionals, establishing open and meaningful communication, and establishing routines that prioritise faith, character development, and mutual support. By exploring real-life scenarios and offering practical strategies, the attendees were encouraged to take concrete steps towards strengthening their homes and influencing the next generation positively.
Beyond the teaching segments, the seminar emphasised the broader vision of D6 Family Ministries: to equip families to be the primary spiritual educators for their children while modelling Christ-like love and character. Participants engaged in reflective exercises and discussion prompts designed to encourage immediate application of the lessons learned. Feedback from attendees highlighted the seminar’s relevance and practicality, with many expressing renewed motivation to cultivate healthy habits and faith-driven routines at home. By partnering with SIBD and the Bible Society, this event reinforced the importance of equipping families to live out their faith in tangible ways, building homes that are spiritually vibrant and resilient in today’s fast-paced world.
