Discovering God’s Word Through Art: “Colour Along With Me – The Lion of Breakthrough”

Art has long been recognised as a universal language that can inspire, heal, and connect people to deeper truths. This transformative quality was on full display at the Colour Along With Me – The Lion of Breakthrough workshop, a faith-based enrichment session organised under the Colours of the Bible engagement programme. The workshop invited participants to explore their creativity while meditating on Scripture, offering a unique avenue to experience God’s Word in a fresh and personal way.

The session was led by Audrey Lee, a passionate artist with extensive experience in painting and creative expression. Having conducted live workshops for corporate events, schools, and charities, Audrey has made it her mission to guide people in expressing the Word of God through colours and art. During this workshop, she encouraged attendees to use creativity as a form of worship, translating their reflections into vibrant works of art. Inspired by Isaiah 61:1, which proclaims, “He sets the captives free,” participants each created their own interpretation of the theme, producing artworks that symbolised freedom, restoration, and breakthrough in their spiritual journeys.

Beyond painting, the workshop served as a sacred space for reflection and renewal. Participants were able to slow down, immerse themselves in Scripture, and connect with God on a deeper level. The act of blending colour with the truths of the Bible became an avenue for prayer and meditation, helping individuals discover new ways to internalise and express Biblical teachings. Through initiatives like this, the Colours of the Bible programme continues to bridge the gap between faith and creativity, encouraging believers to embrace fresh, meaningful ways of engaging with God’s Word. Ultimately, the workshop highlighted how art can not only beautify, but also edify and strengthen faith communities.
