From 24 May to 7 June 2024, the Arts Collective organised DECLARE, a powerful event that united believers from across the globe to proclaim God’s Word aloud. Over the course of the two-week event, participants came together in three dynamic sessions to read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The event provided a unique opportunity for Christians of all ages and backgrounds to experience Scripture in a communal and interactive setting, creating a sense of unity and shared purpose. By reading the Bible aloud together, attendees were reminded of the power of God’s Word to inspire, challenge, and transform lives.
DECLARE is part of a broader Bible proclamation movement that began in 2017, aimed at restoring and celebrating the ancient practice of reading Scripture together. By bringing people together across national and generational boundaries, DECLARE emphasises that the proclamation of God’s Word is not limited to individuals or congregations, but is a collective and intergenerational mission. Local and overseas participants alike were able to connect through this shared spiritual discipline, demonstrating how Scripture can transcend language, culture, and distance, and reminding everyone that they are part of a global community of faith.
Beyond the act of reading, DECLARE provided moments for reflection, prayer, and fellowship. Participants were encouraged not only to proclaim Scripture but to internalise its message and apply it in their daily lives. The event highlighted the relevance of God’s Word in contemporary society, showing that the Bible remains a living and active guide for believers everywhere. By joining together in this movement, attendees experienced the richness of communal faith, strengthened their spiritual walk, and contributed to a growing tradition of Bible proclamation that continues to inspire and unite Christians around the world.
