From 26 to 27 July 2024, the Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship (SIBD) organised the annual D6 Singapore Family Conference, a much-anticipated event designed to strengthen families and equip churches in passing on the Christian faith to the next generation. The conference brought together parents, church leaders, and ministry workers for two days of teaching, discussion, and practical workshops. Attendees were encouraged to explore strategies for nurturing spiritual growth within their households, deepening family relationships, and fostering a home environment where faith could be lived out daily.
This year, the conference featured Dr Scott Turansky, teaching pastor at GraceWay Bible Church, as the keynote speaker. Drawing from his decades of experience in family ministry, Dr Turansky shared insights on effective parenting, marital partnership, and intergenerational discipleship. Participants learned practical ways to integrate spiritual habits into daily routines, engage children meaningfully in matters of faith, and create family rhythms that reinforce Biblical truths. The conference also offered breakout sessions and workshops tailored to different age groups and family contexts, ensuring that both parents and church leaders could leave with actionable guidance to implement in their homes and ministries.
Beyond the teaching sessions, the D6 Singapore Family Conference provided a vibrant space for fellowship and community-building. Families and church leaders had the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and encourage one another in their journeys of faith. The conference emphasised the critical role of relationships, both within the household and in the wider church community, in sustaining a faith that can be passed on to future generations. By the end of the two days, participants left inspired, equipped, and motivated to intentionally cultivate faith-filled households, strengthen marriages, and create environments where children and youth can flourish spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.
