On 16 March 2024, the Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship (SIBD), in collaboration with Walk Thru The Bible, organised a session of otLIVE Training for Adults. Held at the Bible House, this session brought together a diverse group of participants eager to deepen their understanding of Scripture. The training aimed to provide adults with a clear, engaging, and practical overview of the Old Testament, showing how its narratives, themes, and messages interconnect to point to God’s redemptive plan.
Facilitated by Rev Dr Peter Poon, the session used interactive teaching methods that allowed participants to actively engage with the material. Through storytelling, visual aids, and group activities, participants explored the key events, characters, and themes of the Old Testament, from creation and the patriarchs to the rise and fall of Israel. Beyond understanding historical and theological contexts, the training encouraged participants to see how these ancient texts speak to modern life, inspiring reflection on faith, character, and obedience in everyday situations.
The session also emphasised the importance of applying God’s Word in daily life. Participants were encouraged to develop personal strategies for Bible reading, memorisation, and study, equipping them to share these insights with their communities. Many attendees expressed that the interactive approach not only strengthened their Biblical literacy but also reignited a passion for engaging with Scripture regularly. Through otLIVE, SIBD continues to empower believers with practical tools to navigate life with God’s Word at the centre, fostering both personal growth and the ability to disciple others within the Body of Christ.
