The Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship, a ministry of The Bible Society of Singapore, organised the D6 Family Conference 2023 centred around the theme ‘All In: Heart, Soul and Strength’. D6 is an annual family ministry conference focusing on generational discipleship. By seeking to apply the principles of Deuteronomy 6, the D6 movement hopes to enable churches and families to pass on a spiritual legacy to future generations. The English Conference was held from 28 to 29 July at Wesley Methodist Church, while the Chinese Conference was held from 4 to 5 August at Singapore Life Church. About 500 participants attended the plenary sessions, which covered pressing issues in generational discipleship. The sessions provided practical insights into building strong relationships with family members.
Dr Ron Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of D6 Family Ministry and this event’s keynote speaker, shared: “We got to experience the incredible chemistry and wonderful conversations that happened in the hallways, in addition to hearing the great speakers who were sharing from their hearts on the different angles of family ministry—whether it is parenting, grandparenting, or as a lead pastor.”
Allan and Jenney, a husband and wife pair from Paya Lebar Methodist Church, expressed that the event has helped them become better parents and spouses. “We keep coming back because we find it very beneficial—not just learning the theories of family discipleship, but practical tips or application too,” they affirmed.
